Meet new restaurants before they open their doors
A new restaurant or bar files public records weeks before it opens: a liquor licence application, a plan review, a health permit. Every weekday morning we send you the ones filed since yesterday, with the business name, type, address and the step it just took, so you can reach them while they're still choosing suppliers.

Who it's for
POS, payments and payroll
Restaurants pick their POS, card processing and payroll before they open. Reach them while they're still choosing.
Start with Restaurants and cafés →Food and beverage distributors
New bars, restaurants and stores need a beer, wine, spirits and food supplier from day one.
Start with Bars and nightlife →Insurance, equipment and services
Liquor liability, kitchen equipment, linen, signage, pest control and cleaning: every new venue needs them.
Build your alert →5 markets, about 320 new businesses a week
New businesses per week by type, averaged over the last 28 days of records. A business that shows up in two records (a plan review, then its licence) counts once.

Liquor applications and plan reviews are filed weeks to months before a business opens; a first licence or health permit usually comes in the last weeks before opening. Stores (groceries, convenience and liquor stores) only appear where they apply to sell alcohol. *Counting started recently in California (since Oct 15); weekly figures appear after two weeks.

Questions
Can't find what you need? Email support@sabrsoftware.com and a person answers. Sources: Official records: state liquor authorities, Florida DBPR, NYC Health and the City of Chicago.
Where does the data come from?
From public records: the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission's pending applications, the New York State Liquor Authority's pending applications, California ABC's daily new-application report, Florida DBPR's restaurant plan reviews and new licences, NYC Health restaurant permits awaiting their first inspection, and Chicago's new business licences. Every row says which record it came from.
How early do I hear about a business?
It depends on the record. Liquor applications and Florida plan reviews are usually filed weeks to months before opening. Health permits and first licences come in the last weeks before opening, or right as the business opens. The CSV shows the step each business just took and when.
Do you include owners' names or phone numbers?
No. We never include owners' or applicants' personal names, phones or emails, even where an agency publishes them. You get the business's trade name, its company name when it's a company, the premises address, and the business phone where the record lists the business's own line.
Why do some rows say “name not published”?
Some businesses apply under an owner's personal name and haven't registered a trade name yet. We keep the address and type, since that's still a lead, but leave the person's name out.
What do the business types cover?
Restaurants and cafés; bars and nightlife; breweries, wineries and distilleries; food trucks and caterers; and stores selling food or alcohol (groceries, convenience and liquor stores, where they apply for a liquor licence). Types come from the licence or permit class each agency uses.
Will I get the same business twice?
No. A business that files a plan review and later gets its licence is one lead: you get it the first time it appears, and the CSV lists every record we've seen for it.
Can I filter by ZIP code?
Yes: enter ZIP codes at checkout (comma-separated). If none of your ZIPs is in one of your markets, you get that whole market. Reply to any email to change your list.
Can I use the data for screening or credit decisions?
No. We aren't a consumer reporting agency, and the data can't be used for credit, insurance, employment or housing decisions about anyone.
How do I cancel?
Anytime, from the customer portal link in every email. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the month you've paid for.
